We had the pleasure of collaborating with BOI, a knit design and development lab based in Berlin. The studio creates its own collection for home textiles and develops knits for fashion and interior designers and brands. They use the latest technology and their extensive know-how for design-driven developments.

My collaboration with BOI knit in Berlin translates my distinctive geometric language into tactile knitted textiles. These blankets embody the intersection of graphic forms and textiles, transforming my aesthetic compositions into tactile, functional artworks. Working in knit allows me to return to his original design roots, reconnecting with the material and technical processes that first informed my creative practice.

The knitted medium introduces a new dimension to his current visual vocabulary, where digital precision meets the organic rhythm of craftsmanship. Through the process of knitting, my characteristic balance between form and colour finds new expression, as subtle shifts in yarn tension, hue, and knit structure combine to create luxurious products.  Working with BOI knit’s technical expertise, I have reimagined my signature layered geometric shapes through a reduced colour palette, exploring the organic irregularities of material production and variations in yarn.

Influenced by modernist abstraction and contemporary design, my practice embraces geometry as a universal language, now expressed not only through visual rhythm but also through touch. The blankets invite viewers and users to engage physically with my work, transforming the act of viewing into one of comfort and intimacy. This collaboration with BOI knit underscores my fascination with perception and materiality, extending his exploration of form and balance into everyday interior products.

Ultimately, these knitted pieces are more than design objects—they are knitted interpretations of my artistic ethos, where colour, structure, and tactility coalesce into a harmonious expression of visual geometry. In returning to knitting, I have closed a creative loop, uniting my contemporary geometric vision with the modern digital knit techniques that continue to shape my approach to design.

Below are screen shots from my digital sketch book capturing the reinterpretation and development of my layered form into a ‘knitable’ structure using the Ikat plaiting technique.
